# Imprint and contact

> Required details for your SITE and the contact form that comes with them.

If you do something commercial with your page, e.g. advertising or merch, you need an imprint (Impressum) in Germany (§ 5 DDG). On your SITE it isn't in the middle of the page but a small “Impressum” link at the very bottom. It leads to a separate page in the design of your SITE.

## Filling in the imprint

Under **SITE → Bearbeiten** (edit), in the section **Impressum**:

| Field | Required | Note |
| - | - | - |
| **Name oder Firma** (name or company) | yes | |
| **Management oder c/o** (management or c/o) | no | e.g. “c/o Agentur GmbH”, appears below the name |
| **Straße und Hausnummer** (street and number) | yes | |
| **PLZ** (postcode) | yes | |
| **Ort** (city) | yes | |
| **Land** (country) | no | |
| **E-Mail** (email) | yes | |
| **Telefon** (phone) | no | |
| **USt-IdNr.** (VAT ID) | no | If you have one, it has to go in |
| **Verantwortlich für den Inhalt** (responsible for content) | no | only for journalistic-editorial content (§ 18 Abs. 2 MStV) |
| **Zuständige Aufsichtsbehörde** (supervisory authority) | no | only if your activity requires a license. Not needed for most creators |

> [!NOTE]
>
> The address doesn't have to be your home address. A c/o address, e.g. via a management or an imprint service, works too. This is not legal advice. If in doubt, ask someone who knows.

## When the imprint appears

It is complete as soon as **Name, Straße, PLZ, Ort** (name, street, postcode, city) and a valid **E-Mail** are filled in. Only then does your page show the “Impressum” link. If it is incomplete, nothing appears, and under **SITE → Domain** you see a red warning. You can still publish.

Your email address and phone number appear on the imprint page in a way that scrapers can't simply read them.

## The contact form

With a complete imprint your page gets a contact form. On the imprint page visitors find the button **Nachricht schreiben** (write a message), enter name, email and their message and send it. They don't see your address in the process.

Against spam: at most 5 messages per sender per hour and 50 per day to you.

## Reading requests

Messages land under **SITE → Anfragen** (requests). Unread ones have a dot.

| Button | What happens |
| - | - |
| **Antworten** (reply) | opens your email program with the sender's address |
| **Als gelesen / ungelesen markieren** (mark as read / unread) | |
| **Löschen** (delete) | with confirmation |

> Your [Inbox](https://learn.oxom.de/en/werkzeuge/postfach.md) is meant for sponsor requests, with an assessment of the sender. The contact form is for everything else.
