# Import and export

> Bring in links from Bitly, Rebrandly, Dub or a CSV file, and back up all links as CSV.

## Importing links

Switching from another link shortener? Then you bring your links over in one step.

**1. Open the import**

In **LINK → Übersicht** (overview), click **Importieren** (import).

**2. Choose domain and group**

**Domain** applies to all links for which the file doesn't specify its own domain. **Gruppe** (group) files all imported links.

**3. Choose the source**

| Tab | What you need |
| - | - |
| **CSV-Datei** (CSV file) | a file up to 2 MB and 2,000 rows |
| **Bitly** | your Bitly access token |
| **Rebrandly** | your Rebrandly API key |
| **Dub** | your Dub API key, or **Mit Verbindung abrufen** (fetch via connection) if Dub is connected under integrations |

oxom only uses the key for this one fetch and doesn't store it.

**4. Check the preview**

oxom shows how many links are ready and what doesn't work. With **Nur Fehler zeigen** (show errors only) you see the problem cases.

**5. Import**

**… Links importieren** (import links).

### What doesn't get imported

* Endings that already exist. oxom doesn't overwrite anything, it reports them to you.
* Endings that are currently under **Zuletzt gelöscht** (recently deleted).
* duplicate rows in the file
* blocked targets and addresses over 2,048 characters

### Structure of a CSV file

The columns `url` (the target) and `key` (the ending) are required. Optional: `title`, `group`, `domain`, `live_at` and `expires_at`. oxom recognizes exports from Bitly, Rebrandly, Dub, Short.io and TinyURL on its own. Comma, semicolon or tab as separator all work.

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
url,key,group
https://youtube.com/@yourname,yt,Socials
https://shop.yourname.com,shop,Merch
```

With `expires_at` you can give links an expiry date. After that they redirect to the [fallback target](https://learn.oxom.de/en/werkzeuge/link/einstellungen.md#when-a-link-does-not-redirect). So far this only works via the import.

## Exporting all links

Under **LINK → Einstellungen → Als CSV exportieren** (settings → export as CSV) you download all links as a file: target, ending, domain, title, group, start time, expiry, status, clicks and creation date. Deleted links are not included.

You can open the file in any spreadsheet program and import it again later, e.g. as a backup.
