# Settings

> Defaults for new links, home page of your domains and the fallback target.

Under **LINK → Einstellungen** (settings). Every setting applies right away, without a save button.

## New links

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Standard-Domain** (default domain) | which domain is preselected when creating |
| **Standard-Gruppe** (default group) | which group new links go into |
| **Zufalls-Key** (random key) | how long random endings are, 4 to 12 characters, default 5 |

## Home page of the domains

Where does someone land who only opens `yourname.link/`, without an ending? Enter a target per domain, e.g. your SITE or your channel. Empty means: the visitor sees “Seite nicht gefunden” (page not found).

## When a link does not redirect

The **Ersatz-Ziel** (fallback target) catches everything that can't redirect:

* endings that don't exist, e.g. typos
* archived and deleted links
* links that aren't live yet

Enter your SITE, for example. Then nobody lands on an error page. Empty means: the home page of the domain applies, otherwise “Seite nicht gefunden”. The fallback target applies to all your domains.

## Import and export

**Importieren** (import) brings in links from other services, **Als CSV exportieren** (export as CSV) downloads all your links as a file. More under [Import and export](https://learn.oxom.de/en/werkzeuge/link/import-export.md).

## Security

For some targets no short links can be created, for all workspaces:

* known phishing and malware sites
* sites with adult content
* sites I have blocked

This can't be switched off. If a target lands on such a list later, an older link no longer redirects there either.
